Abstract

War is an unfortunate event that can cause significant psychological stress. The Holy Quran offers strategies for coping with this stress in three phases: before the war, during the war, and after it, which can be accessed through an examination of the verses related to wars. These strategies have been discovered and elucidated through extensive research, but this study aims to present the strategies found in verses 121 to 127 of Surah Al-‘Imran, which were revealed on the eve of the Battle of Uhud. The research method employed is descriptive-analytical, while also utilizing a psychological understanding of religious texts. The results indicate that the main source of psychological tension before war is the fear of confronting the enemy. The Holy Quran presents six strategies to mitigate this fear: 1. Belief in God's awareness, 2. Attention to Divine Guardianship, 3. Reliance on God, 4. Remembrance of past support, 5. Comparison with worse situations, and 6. Promise of future assistance. These strategies, through preventive and restorative approaches, foster a sense of God- fearing and minimize the perception of hardship, instilling feelings of support and empowerment in the hearts of the warriors.
