An analysis of the influence of parents in controlling children's sexual desire from the perspective of the Quran

Abstract

Sexual desire is one of the most important, difficult, sensitive and effective human desires, which, if not properly managed, will lead to irreparable consequences in the world and the hereafter. Controlling this desire during childhood and adolescence is of particular importance and parents play a significant role in this regard. The present research presents the perspective of the Holy Quran, which is a revealed and infallible source, with a descriptive-analytical method and in compliance with the criteria of thematic interpretation, about how parents influence children's sexual desire. The findings of the research show the quality of this effect as follows: prevention of images in the imagination of immature children, management of children's coming and going in the face of the opposite sex, chaste upbringing of children, metaphysical effect of parents' piety on children's sexual chastity, influence of carnal desires. Mother or nanny on the fetus or child and the important role of parents' prayer in children's sexual chastity.
