Abstract

The discussion and investigation surrounding the concept of monotheism in interpretation have led to differences of opinion among exegetes, resulting in divergent views on its branches and specific issues. According to the perspective of the exegete of Al-Mizan, the Quranic revelations emphasize monotheism, while the exegete of Al-Manar has focused on theological discussions as needed. Therefore, the present research aims to identify and analyze the points of convergence and divergence between the two mentioned exegetical works regarding monotheism through a descriptive-analytical and comparative method. The research findings indicate that Al-Mizan and Al-Manar in the central discussion of monotheism, its innate nature, and provability through rational arguments, have also elucidated the relationship between monotheism and the foundational beliefs of justice, resurrection, and their connection to ethical teachings, ultimately traversing a common path. However, these two interpretations have presented different views on the conceptualization of the term "Lord" and its derivatives, articulating the conceptual coherence of divine lordship with other attributes and explaining the doctrinal origin of prophethood and related topics such as the limitation of the messengers' missions and the power of prophets in managing affairs and performing miracles.
