In contemporary times, experientialism and a materialistic approach to different fields have led to the interpretation of the Quran being one of these fields. Some Quranic scholars, influenced by the materialistic approach, have delved into analyzing the unseen concepts of the Quran. One of the interpreters who engaged in interpreting the Quran in such a context was Mohammad Taghi Shariati. Some have said that based on some of his opinions, he has interpreted the unseen concepts of the Quran in material terms. Therefore, considering the intellectual and religious challenges of this approach in Islamic societies, especially in Iran, and considering the fundamental role of unseen concepts in human happiness, we must have a proper understanding of these concepts and evaluate the perspective of Mohammad Taghi Shariati as an influential figure in contemporary times. This research aims to investigate the materialistic approach to the unseen concepts of the Quran in modern interpretation using a descriptive-analytical method. According to the findings of the research, the material interpretation is compatible with epistemological, ontological, and anthropological foundations, and it exceeds the limits of scientific and rational interpretation, sometimes leading to the inclusion of empirical science in the realm of unseen matters and other times ignoring the language of rationality in favor of scientific interpretation, or even disregarding the language of rationality altogether.
